Shri Yamunaji has 3 divine forms Aadi Bhautik, Aadhyatmik, Aadidevik,
- Aadi Bhautik, The river seen by all.
- Aadhyatmik, The Holy divine form praised & worshipped by all.
- Aadidevik The dark damsel form in the Nityalia of lord Krishna whese she is also called as the chatartha Priya
In the year 1549 on Shravan Sub Teej Shri Vallabh with his few selected devolees had visited Shree Gokul. A doubt crossed in his mind as to which must be the Thakurani Ghat and which must be Govind Ghat?
A beautiful dark Divine Swaroop of Shri Yamunaji appeased and clarified Shri Vallabhs doubts. Shri Vallabh defined & praised this swaroop of Yamunaji by Namami Yamuna maham – Yamunashlak , & stanzas in praise of shri Yamunaji.

Shri Yamunaji is known to posses all the characters , the colous and even the dress code of the lord. She is called “Mukunda Rati Vardhini” one who induces love and devolion in Mukund (lord). Shri yamunaji is not only most beloved to lord Krishna but she freely shares that sacred relationship with her bhaklas.
She gifls her jives a divine human like form by which the jives perform seva of the lord uninteruptly it was here on the river banks where the infant lord Krishna has performed all his Vrajlilas such as Chirharan, Gocharan, maharas etc.
Shri Yamunaji takes on numerous forms in order to relate uniquely with each of her Yeasning bhatkyas, because she is the Goddess of grace unlike other river that flow into ocean Shri Yamunaji flows directly into Shri Krishna’s bliss form and becomes like him, replete with lordship, potency, fame, beauty, wisdom & renunciation.
Shri Yamunaji according to our Vedas is said to be born on “chaitra sud 6” of the heart of Shri Narayan residing in the “Surya mandal” or divine universe, Hence she is called “Bhanu Tanaya” daughter of the divine Sun from these she flows on the mountain. kalinda and then to the Vrajmandal to assist the lord in his lilas and bless her devotees.
Shri Vallabh concludes the Yamuna shtak by adding the “phal” in the last 4 times , He rays one who praises shri Yamunaji in this ashtak shall gain all “siddhis” pleasing the lord. One will also conquer his inconquerable nature & mind, thus please and serve hord Krishna.
