THE PRESENT TILAKAYAT MAHARAJ OF NATHDWARA
Shree Indradamanji (Rakeshji) Maharaj
FALGUN SHUKLA 7; V.S. 2006
Tilakayat Shri Indradamanji Maharaj, the second son of Shri Govindlalji Maharaja, was born on Fagun Shukla Satam (24th February 1950). He grew up to be a man of principles and punctuality like his father. Taking after his mother and elder brother, he is magnanimous and kind-hearted, known for his simple effortless smile that he bestows upon one and all.
He is married to A. S. Shubh-Laxmi (Rajeshwari) Bahuji and is blessed with four children — Anuradha Betiji, Padmini Betiji, Vishal Bawa and Priyamvada Betiji.
Among the many manoraths undertaken by him for Prabhu-sukh, the most memorable is the 2006 Manorath of ‘Vrajraj Vraj mein karat Vihar,’ where he took Laadlelal Shri Navneetpriyaji back home to Vraj after 250 long years. The fortnight-long manorath became the highlight of the decade, culminating that long-held desire left behind by his mother and elder brother.
Others that stand out in his reign so far include, the Lal Baag, Udaipur Charan chowki, Vrindavan Baag (bhool bhulaiya), Nathuwaas Gaushala, Tatol and Ghasiyar manorath.
As the contemporary Tilakayat Maharaj of Nathdwara, he is known to be a forward thinking man with strong roots in Aacharyacharan and Prabhucharan’s Pushti principles. He has been instrumental in regularising the use of LPG gas in Shriji rasoi, to cut down on the use of firewood which is hazardous not only to the bhitariyas cooking but also to the environment. Under his tutelage, the Nathdwara Temple premises have been fitted with a humongous solar energy plant, which will power most of the temple and related buildings.
He is known to be a kind and firm Tilakayat, who has been instrumental in taking the Vallabh Sampraday grandly into the 21st Century.
